The Tacoma Art Museum features a varying exhibition schedule featuring classic and contemporary pieces, as well as an impressive collection focusing on regional Northwestern art. One of the biggest collections is the works of local glass artist Dale Chihuly, and the museum's 19th century European and 20th century American art holdings are extensive. Relocated in 2003, the new museum building was designed by famed architect Antoine Predock and captures Tacoma's unique combination of industry and nature in a beautiful stone, steel, and glass 12,000 square-foot gallery. The museum is located on the University of Washington-Tacoma campus, just north of Union Station and the Washington State History Museum.
