The Broadway Center for the Performing Arts was created in an effort to revitalize the historic theaters of Tacoma. Today, the center manages the 1918 Rialto Theater, the 1918 Pantages Theater and the modern Theatre on the Square. Serving as a major hub for regional performance companies, the center has resident arts companies including the Northwest Sinfonietta, Tacoma City Ballet, Tacoma Opera and Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. All of the theaters are set in the center of the city in the Theatre District, southeast of Wright Park just blocks from the water.
