Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium brings together land-based and aquatic life in wonderfully maintained AZA accredited habitats. A combination of indoor aquarium exhibits and outdoor habitats hold animals from around the world in areas like the "Asian Forest Sanctuary" and the "Arctic Tundra." Up-close encounters with animals including endangered beluga whales, elephants and red wolves give visitors the chance to learn even more about these exotic creatures. The zoo and aquarium are lodged within Point Defiance Park, next to Puget Sound on the northern tip of the city.
